Engineering Technician

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Engineering Technician to join our well‑established engineering and manufacturing environment in Aylesford. The role combines day‑to‑day production support with involvement in wider engineering improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support planned and reactive maintenance of production equipment and site infrastructure.
• Diagnose, repair and improve mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assist with installation, relocation, commissioning and modification of equipment.
• Contribute to automation and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Perform practical engineering tasks such as fitting, fabrication, adjustment and modification work.
• Support root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment issues.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and maintenance teams to ensure equipment safety and reliability.
• Assist contractors and suppliers during installation and service activities.
• Maintain and improve PPM systems, maintenance records and engineering tracking.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on engineering background (mechanical, electrical or multi‑skilled).
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Good fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Practical mindset with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• Flexible attitude to support production and project demands.
