Engineering Technician

About the role

The Engineering Technician will join the Site Services team of a global distribution leader, ensuring that automated equipment and site facilities operate safely and reliably. This full‑time, onsite position offers the chance to work across day and night shifts, supporting a busy logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on automated machinery.
• Perform routine inspections, produce maintenance reports and shift logs.
• Diagnose faults quickly to minimise operational disruption.
• Maintain engineering stock levels and manage spare‑parts inventory.
• Undertake general building and site maintenance, including lighting, fixtures and minor repairs.
• Support planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with operational teams, management and contractors across shifts.
• Identify opportunities for equipment reliability, efficiency, cost savings and health & safety improvements.

Required profile

• Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
• Comfort working on automated machinery in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong problem‑solving and fault‑finding abilities.
• Organised with the ability to prioritise workloads.
• Effective communicator who works well in a team.
• Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and safety compliance.
