Engineering Work Package Manager (12‑Month Contract)

About the role
The Engineering Work Package Manager will define and structure the project’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), plan and schedule engineering activities, and provide regular progress reports. This 12‑month contract role is based in Luton and requires a high level of UK security clearance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the engineering side of projects and set clear expectations for outcomes.
- Manage multi‑disciplinary teams across sites, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain communication with the Engineering IPT, IPT lead, Project Manager and Functional Heads.
- Track progress, risks and technical performance, and ensure designs meet customer needs and are fully documented.
- Control project configuration and change management to maximise design reuse.
Required profile
- Proven ability to plan and organise engineering work packages.
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Experience managing budgets and schedules.
- Effective communication with managers, suppliers and customers.
- Leadership capability and solid understanding of the engineering lifecycle.
