English Graduate Teaching Assistant

About the role

An outstanding secondary school in Greenwich is seeking a motivated English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join the English department from September 2026. This full‑time temporary position offers recent English graduates valuable classroom experience before they begin teacher training.

Key responsibilities

• Support students in English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group intervention sessions.
• Assist pupils with literacy, reading comprehension and essay writing.
• Provide support for learners with varying abilities and needs.
• Help teachers prepare engaging classroom resources.
• Gain hands‑on classroom experience in a high‑performing school environment.

Required profile

• Hold a degree in English or a related subject.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passionate about education and supporting young people.
• Considering a future career in teaching.
• Proactive, adaptable and eager to learn.
