English Lecturer – Flexible Bank Teaching Role

About the role

The Supply Register Ltd is seeking qualified English Lecturers to join a flexible bank staff pool supporting NCG South London Colleges, including Southwark College, Lewisham College and the HE Centre at Harbour Exchange, Canary Wharf. This role offers the chance to teach GCSE and Functional Skills English on an as‑needed basis within a supportive further and higher education environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality GCSE and/or Functional Skills English lessons.
• Plan and prepare engaging, inclusive teaching sessions.
• Support learners in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Create a positive, professional learning environment.

Required profile

• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
• Relevant degree in English, Education or related subject.
• Experience teaching English in Further Education, Higher Education or schools.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Flexible, reliable and professional approach.
