English Lecturer – Foundation Learning

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic English Lecturer to join our Foundation Learning team within the Maths & English Department. You will deliver inclusive, responsive, and innovative teaching across GCSE and Functional Skills programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Schemes of Work and assessment plans for various English programmes.
• Provide engaging, innovative learning experiences and assess learners using diverse methods.
• Guide and tutor learners, supporting action planning, reviews, and positive progression.
• Use data to evaluate provision quality and ensure compliance with performance indicators.
• Contribute to curriculum development, staff development, and team activities.
• Carry out administrative duties and support learner recruitment and marketing.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent vocational qualification.
• Relevant subject qualification to Level 3.
• Teaching qualification (DTLLS or equivalent).
• GCSE grade A*‑C in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years teaching experience up to Level 3.
• Strong ICT/ILT skills for delivering outstanding teaching.
• Excellent presentation and communication abilities.
