About the role
London South East College is seeking an enthusiastic English Lecturer to deliver high‑quality instruction to students ranging from Entry level to GCSE. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team focused on expanding the English department and supporting diverse learners.
Key responsibilities
- Teach English to students from Entry level through GCSE.
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Manager to develop and expand the department’s curriculum.
- Inspire and engage students using industry experience and academic knowledge.
- Participate in marketing events to promote the English curriculum.
- Maintain accurate student records and perform related administrative duties.
Required profile
- Right to work in the UK without hour restrictions.
- Qualified teacher (PGCE, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
- Minimum two years post‑qualification teaching experience in UK secondary, further education, sixth form, academy or alternative provision.
- Proven ability to teach GCSE English; functional‑skills experience at Entry Level 3 is desirable.
- Relevant subject‑specific qualification in English.
- Minimum Level 2 literacy and numeracy (GCSE or equivalent).
- Excellent communication and administrative skills.
