English & Maths GCSE Tutor (Part‑time, Liverpool)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a part‑time English & Maths GCSE Tutor to work with students across Liverpool. You will deliver one‑to‑one lessons that boost confidence, close learning gaps and help learners achieve their GCSE targets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised 1:1 English and/or Maths GCSE lessons.
• Assess each pupil’s progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Provide additional support for students who have missed education, experience anxiety or have SEND.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance and achievement.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification (desirable).
• Proven experience teaching English and/or Maths at GCSE level.
• Experience working with learners who need extra support or have disengaged from education.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

Required skills

• Patience and adaptability when supporting diverse learner needs.
• Strong communication skills to explain concepts clearly.
• Ability to create engaging, tailored lesson plans.
