English Teacher – Day‑to‑Day & Long‑Term Roles in East Lancashire

About the role

Veritas Education is seeking qualified English teachers to deliver curriculum for secondary schools across East Lancashire. Both day‑to‑day supply and longer‑term assignments are available, allowing you to fit work around your lifestyle or secure a more permanent placement starting this September.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 optional).
• Assess student progress, provide feedback and support attainment targets.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with school staff and adapt resources to meet diverse learner needs.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English at KS3/KS4 (experience at KS5 desirable but not essential).
• Strong classroom management skills and a passion for inspiring young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Legal right to work in the UK and willingness to attend a registration interview.
