About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join our 11‑16 secondary school in Woking from September 2026. The role can be full‑time or part‑time (four days a week) and offers a competitive salary on the MPS or UPS fringe pay scale.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for students aged 11‑16.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development of innovative teaching and learning strategies.
- Collaborate with the English department and wider school staff to achieve outstanding outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training and leadership development programmes.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Passion for teaching English and fostering a love of literature.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of English language and literature curricula.
- Effective classroom management techniques.
- Proficiency with interactive LED screen technology for lesson delivery.
