English Teacher – KS3 & KS4 (Long‑term Supply)

About the role
Reed Education is looking for an experienced English Teacher to join a secondary school in Brighton on a long‑term supply basis starting September 2026. You will work with KS3 and KS4 pupils, delivering the national English curriculum and supporting their academic progress.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons for Year 7‑11 students.
- Assess, record and track student progress, adapting teaching methods to individual needs.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes well‑being and learning.
- Participate in staff meetings, parent evenings and school events as required.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
Required profile
- Valid teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS or QTLS.
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3 & KS4).
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
- Current DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
