About the role
We are partnering with a high‑performing secondary school in East London to hire an ambitious English Teacher for a September 2026 start. The role involves delivering English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching A‑Level for suitably experienced candidates.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature for KS3 and KS4.
- Assess student work in line with departmental schemes of learning and monitor progress.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations and meet assessment objectives.
- Provide targeted support to pupils who need additional help.
- Contribute to enrichment activities, literacy initiatives and wider school events.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school.
- Strong knowledge of the English Language and Literature curricula.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
