About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Aylesbury from September 2026. The role is full‑time and permanent, delivering engaging lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 for experienced candidates.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Adapt teaching strategies to motivate and challenge students of all abilities.
- Assess student progress, set high expectations and support attainment.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including departmental meetings and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for English.
- Proven ability to raise attainment and inspire a love of learning.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and inclusive practice.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable, but experienced English specialists are also considered.
- Early‑career teachers are encouraged to apply.
