About the role
A welcoming secondary school in Bedford is seeking a passionate English Teacher to join its supportive department. You will work with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that inspire a love of literature and language.
Key responsibilities
- Teach English Language and Literature to KS3 and KS4 pupils (KS5 experience desirable).
- Plan and deliver challenging, inclusive lessons that meet curriculum standards.
- Assess, monitor and support student progress to achieve excellent outcomes.
- Contribute to enrichment and departmental activities, enhancing the wider life of the school.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote high‑quality teaching and learning.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Commitment to raising achievement and inspiring a love of English.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, positive attitude.
