English Teacher – Secondary School (IG6)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is recruiting an enthusiastic English Teacher for a secondary school in IG6. The position starts in September 2026 and is a full‑time permanent role based on site.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver English Language and Literature lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable).
• Maintain effective classroom and behaviour management.
• Assess student progress and contribute to attainment targets.
• Adapt timetables as needed, typically teaching between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm.

Required profile

• Proven experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Reliability, punctuality and commitment to student progress.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional child‑related references covering the last two years.
