English Teacher – Secondary School (KS3/KS4) – Full‑time

About the role

We are seeking a qualified English Teacher to join a good‑rated secondary school in Dagenham for a full‑time, one‑term contract starting September 2026. You will work with pupils in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, many of whom have low literacy levels and a range of SEN needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a creative, thematic English curriculum aligned with the National Curriculum.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations and support them through standard examination programmes.
• Collaborate closely with the English and SEN departments to maintain and improve student progress.
• Assess individual learning needs and adapt lessons for both group and whole‑class instruction.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Ambitious, motivated and able to inspire confidence in students.
• Experience or willingness to work with pupils who have diverse literacy and SEN requirements.
