English Teacher – Secondary School (Richmond)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English teacher to join a well‑established secondary academy in Richmond. The successful candidate will inspire pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love of literature, writing and critical thinking in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons aligned with the national curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Use a variety of teaching methods to meet diverse learner needs and support progress and attainment.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and targeted interventions.
• Collaborate with English department colleagues and across the school to enhance curriculum delivery.
• Promote positive behaviour, high expectations and a culture of wellbeing, safeguarding and inclusion.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching English at secondary level.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate pupils.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Proactive approach to professional development and teamwork.
