English Teacher – Secondary School (South London)

About the role

We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated English Teacher to join an outstanding secondary school in South London from September. This full‑time position offers the chance to inspire students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, delivering engaging lessons that foster a love of literature and language.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality English Language and English Literature lessons for KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
• Monitor, assess and track student progress, providing timely feedback.
• Contribute to the development and review of the English curriculum.
• Promote excellent behaviour and high expectations for learning.
• Support students in achieving outstanding GCSE and A‑Level outcomes.
• Participate in departmental meetings and whole‑school initiatives.
• Engage in enrichment activities and school events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching English Language and Literature, or an Early Career Teacher eager to develop.
• Commitment to high academic standards and student wellbeing.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive leadership team.
