About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher for a secondary school in Wakefield, starting September 2026. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4, helping pupils develop strong language skills and a love of literature.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in the wider school community and extracurricular activities.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in English or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary level.
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
