English Teacher – Secondary Schools (North London)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a qualified English Teacher to deliver high‑quality lessons across a range of secondary schools in North London. The role is ideal for early‑career teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced practitioners who are passionate about English and student progress.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that meet GCSE standards.
• Motivate and challenge students to produce high‑quality work.
• Maintain strong classroom and behaviour management.
• Support pupils with diverse SEN, behavioural and academic needs.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and promote student welfare.

Required profile

• Proven track record of achieving excellent English outcomes at GCSE level.
• Dynamic, ambitious practitioner committed to student progress.
• Experience in a UK secondary school setting.
• Relevant teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent).
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to complete compliance checks.

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge of the English curriculum.
• Effective lesson planning and delivery techniques.
• Classroom and behaviour management strategies.
