English Teacher – SEMH (Full‑time, New Forest)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is partnering with a specialist SEMH school in the New Forest to recruit a passionate English Teacher. This full‑time, ongoing temporary position offers the chance to support young learners with social, emotional and mental health needs while delivering GCSE‑level English.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive English lessons up to GCSE level.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet a range of SEMH and additional learning needs.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment.
- Implement effective behaviour management and relationship‑based practice.
- Support students in building resilience, emotional regulation and confidence.
- Collaborate with pastoral teams, support staff and senior leadership.
- Contribute to a school culture focused on wellbeing and student success.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching English up to GCSE level.
- Previous SEMH or SEN experience (desirable but not essential).
- Strong behaviour management skills and ability to build positive relationships.
- Patient, calm, empathetic approach with high resilience and flexibility.
