English Teacher – Temp to Perm (East London)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a qualified English Teacher for a full‑time, temporary‑to‑permanent position in a secondary school in East London, starting September 2026. You will join a supportive English department delivering curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Assess and track student progress, aiming to raise attainment.
• Contribute to departmental meetings and collaborative planning.
• Participate in parent evenings and school events.
• Engage in ongoing CPD and in‑house training.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with an English‑related degree.
• Proven experience teaching English at secondary level (not an ECT).
• Strong subject knowledge and a record of improving student outcomes.
• Professionalism, enthusiasm and a positive classroom presence.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to hold an enhanced DBS.
