About the role
The Supply Register Ltd, in partnership with Hillside Academy, is seeking a passionate English Teacher for a temporary placement. You will deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils in a supportive secondary school environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver curriculum‑aligned English lessons for KS3 and KS4.
- Create an inclusive, motivating classroom atmosphere.
- Support pupils’ progress in reading, writing and analytical skills.
- Collaborate with the English department and wider school staff.
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4.
- Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management.
- Commitment to raising attainment and supporting pupil achievement.
Required skills
- Curriculum planning for English Language and Literature.
- Classroom management techniques.
- Assessment and feedback strategies.
