English Tutor – 1:1 Support (Part‑time)

About the role
Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated English Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one support to Year 6 students in Leeds. The role is part‑time, offering 10 hours per week across Monday and Wednesday between 9 am and 4 pm, and works with local authorities to help pupils in alternative provision reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailored 1:1 English tutoring sessions.
- Help students improve academic performance and confidence.
- Adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning needs.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to students and stakeholders.
Required profile
- QTS desirable but not essential; proven experience in 1:1 tutoring.
- Track record of raising student achievement.
- Team Teach qualification highly desirable.
- Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (within the last year) – training can be provided.
- DBS registration on the update service.
- Right to work in the UK and two professional references covering the last two years.
Required skills
- Strong command of English language and teaching methodology.
- Ability to personalise lessons and adapt to diverse learner needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and DBS compliance.
