English Tutor – Flexible 1:1 Tuition

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic English Tutors to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for children and young people across Hampshire. Working on behalf of local authorities, you will help vulnerable learners rebuild confidence, re‑engage with education and make progress in their English studies. The role starts in September and offers flexible hours to suit your availability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 English tuition tailored to each learner’s needs.
• Adapt teaching methods to support a range of ages and learning abilities.
• Build positive relationships that encourage confidence and motivation.
• Monitor and report on learner progress to ensure educational goals are met.

Required profile

• At least 6 months experience in an educational setting (tutoring, teaching, mentoring, etc.).
• Strong command of the English language and ability to deliver engaging sessions.
• Experience with learners who have diverse learning needs is desirable.
• Patient, adaptable and learner‑focused attitude.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Access to a vehicle or willingness to travel locally.
