Enquiry and Referral Coordinator

About the role

The Safeguarding Enquiry and Referral Coordinator Team at Eddie Ferguson House in Blyth is seeking a dedicated professional to manage safeguarding referrals and support multi‑agency processes. This fixed‑term, full‑time position offers the chance to contribute to the safety and wellbeing of the community while working closely with police, local authorities and partner agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Attend daily Police Notification Meetings and complete follow‑up actions, including emails, contact updates and recording MASH Police Triage notes on Azeus.
• Manage the central safeguarding referrals inbox, processing open and inappropriate referrals, recording contacts on Azeus, notifying referrers and forwarding cases to locality teams.
• Signpost referrals to partner agencies such as Children’s Services, CNTW and Harbour in line with team guidance.
• Monitor and respond to inbox queries from referrers, providing timely outcomes via phone or email.
• Conduct follow‑up communication with referrers to gather additional information for safeguarding decisions.
• Respond promptly to probation service requests and carry out research for multi‑agency processes (MARAC, MATAC, MAPPA).
• Complete Police and Adult Safeguarding (PAS) checks as required.
• Provide coordination support for Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs) and deliver ad‑hoc administrative assistance to the safeguarding team.

Required profile

• Good general education demonstrating numeracy and literacy.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an admin/business‑related discipline, or comparable experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Azeus case‑management system.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract until 31 December 2026 (NCC Band 5).
• Salary range £28,598 – £31,022 per year.
• Full‑time schedule (37 hours per week) based onsite at Eddie Ferguson House, Blyth.
