Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Part‑Time, Remote)

About the role

Bechtel is seeking an Environmental and Sustainability Specialist to join a multi‑year, part‑time telework contract supporting the Future Materials Campus project for the UK Atomic Weapons Establishment. The role acts as the environmental representative for engineering activities, helping to embed sustainability and regulatory compliance into the conceptual design phase.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Engineering Delivery Manager as the primary environmental liaison.
• Assist design teams by preparing technical documents, schedules and quality checks.
• Develop and deliver environmental reports, studies and criteria definitions.
• Integrate environmental and sustainability considerations into engineering deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with UK nuclear and environmental regulations throughout the project.

Required profile

• Proactive, driven individual with experience in environmental and sustainability work on nuclear or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong written communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder interaction.
