Environmental & Sustainability Specialist – Part‑Time (UK)

About the role

Bechtel is seeking an Environmental and Sustainability Specialist to support a multi‑year, multi‑billion‑pound nuclear infrastructure programme for the UK Atomic Weapons Establishment. The role is part‑time and primarily remote, working alongside the Engineering Delivery Manager to ensure environmental considerations are integrated throughout the conceptual design phase.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the environmental representative for engineering activities on the Future Materials Campus project.
• Prepare and review technical documents, environmental reports, and sustainability studies.
• Define environmental criteria and ensure they are incorporated into design deliverables.
• Support schedule execution, quality checks, and overall project delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align environmental objectives with project goals.

Required profile

• Proactive, driven individual with experience in environmental and sustainability matters within large‑scale infrastructure or nuclear projects.
• Ability to work independently and support senior engineering leadership.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
