EPC Project Manager

About the role

National Grid is delivering major high‑voltage infrastructure projects across England and Wales to support the UK’s net‑zero ambition. As an EPC Project Manager you will lead projects from early development through construction to close‑out, ensuring robust governance, regulatory compliance and excellent delivery outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the investment process across pre‑construction, delivery and project close‑out with strong governance.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, CDM Regulations, environmental legislation and National Grid standards.
• Act as the Client’s Delegated Representative and undertake the Principal Designer role where required under CDM.
• Produce regular project updates, including programme reporting, financial forecasting, risk and issue management.
• Fulfil the role of NEC Project Manager (or equivalent) across a range of contract types.

Required profile

• Proven track record of delivering construction projects from inception to completion.
• Experience managing high‑value, high‑voltage power or major infrastructure schemes.
• Excellent influencing, negotiation and communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Thorough understanding of construction industry Health & Safety requirements and best practice.
• Demonstrable experience in contract management, ideally NEC or similar contracts.
• Knowledge of the electricity industry or regulated utilities environment is desirable.
