Equine Trainer – Stable Groom for Police Mounted Unit

About the role
This full‑time temporary position supports the City of London Police Mounted Unit by caring for operational police horses. You will work on‑site in a stable environment, ensuring the animals are healthy, fit and ready for duty.
Key responsibilities
- Daily grooming, feeding and watering of police horses
- Mucking out stalls and maintaining a clean, safe yard
- Monitoring horse health and welfare, reporting any concerns
- Assisting with clipping when required
- Ensuring high standards of stable management and hygiene
Required profile
- Practical experience handling horses
- Reliable, physically fit and calm under pressure
- Pride in maintaining high standards of horse care
- Ability to work well within a disciplined team
- Willingness to work weekends and outdoors
- BHS qualification or equivalent desirable
Required skills
- Clipping
- British Horse Society qualification (or similar)
