Equity Research Analyst – Long/Short Hedge Fund (ACA background welcome)

About the role

This full‑time position is with a leading long/short hedge fund based in London. The analyst will join a high‑performing investment team, contributing to the fund’s strong track record by identifying and evaluating equity investment opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Actively source and assess equity investment ideas for the fund.
• Identify corporate events or market catalysts that could affect stock valuations.
• Recommend buy and sell trades to portfolio managers.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models to support investment theses.
• Monitor existing positions and provide ongoing performance analysis.
• Collaborate closely with other analysts and fund managers as an active team member.

Required profile

• Background as an equity analyst, investment banker, or ACA (2.1 or first‑class degree).
• Strong academic record, ideally A* in Mathematics at A‑level.
• Genuine interest in financial markets and investment research.
• Demonstrated technical excellence in quantitative analysis.

Required skills

• Financial modelling and valuation techniques.
• Ability to analyse corporate financial statements.
• Understanding of equity market dynamics and event‑driven investing.
