ERP Business Analyst – Digital Transformation

About the role

This contract role supports a local authority in Merseyside during a major digital transformation. The Council is rolling out MHR i‑Trent for HR and Payroll and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance, both in the implementation phase. The ERP Business Analyst will lead analysis activities, ensuring the programmes deliver the intended business improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business analysis across complex transformation projects and programmes.
• Act as the Business Analysis lead on strategic improvement initiatives.
• Identify and apply appropriate methodologies, including Lean and Six Sigma.
• Own the analysis phase throughout the project lifecycle.
• Gather requirements, facilitate workshops and discovery sessions with stakeholders and senior management.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leaders.
• Mentor Assistant Business Analysts as needed.
• Drive continuous improvement to boost customer satisfaction, efficiency and cost reduction.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering business analysis in complex, enterprise‑wide transformation programmes.
• Strong track record working with cross‑functional teams and competing priorities.
• Excellent facilitation, communication and presentation skills.
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and Business Analysis Practitioner qualification or comparable experience.
