ESOL Lecturer – Full‑time Permanent Role in Liverpool

About the role

The ESOL department at a Liverpool college is seeking a full‑time permanent lecturer to deliver high‑quality English language teaching to learners aged 16‑18 and 19+. You will create stimulating learning experiences, monitor progress and support students in achieving both academic and personal goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging ESOL lessons across pre‑entry, beginner and Level 2 programmes.
• Use a range of teaching techniques to motivate students and promote independence.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment and manage student behaviour.
• Set, mark and record assessments in line with college policies.
• Track attendance and progress, providing feedback for improvement.
• Collaborate with the Head of ESOL and curriculum teams on programme design and administration.
• Stay updated on national developments in ESOL teaching and incorporate best practices.

Required profile

• Full‑time permanent position (35 hours per week).
• Reporting line to the Head of ESOL.
