ESOL Tutor – Flexible Part‑Time Role in Southport

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for enthusiastic ESOL Tutors to deliver one‑to‑one English language tuition to learners across Southport. This part‑time position offers flexible hours and the chance to make a tangible difference in learners’ confidence and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised 1:1 or small‑group ESOL sessions covering speaking, listening, reading and writing.
• Adapt lesson content to each learner’s needs, abilities and goals.
• Conduct tuition in learners’ homes, community venues or other agreed locations.
• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, CELTA, DELTA, TEFL/TESOL or equivalent).
• Proven experience delivering ESOL or literacy support.
• Ability to work independently with learners of varying ages and backgrounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, supportive and adaptable teaching approach.

Required skills

• Lesson planning and delivery for ESOL learners.
• Assessment of language proficiency.
• Ability to create engaging, learner‑centred activities.
