Estate Caretaker – Temporary (Full‑time)

About the role

This temporary full‑time position is based in the City of London, near Barbican station. You will be responsible for keeping communal areas of housing blocks clean, safe and well‑maintained on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, sweep, mop and tidy internal and external communal spaces.
• Collect litter, clear leaves, maintain bin areas and rotate refuse containers.
• Carry out health‑and‑safety checks, photograph and report hazards, graffiti and abandoned vehicles.
• Clean internal ledges, sills, handrails, balustrades, doors and remove cobwebs from light fittings.
• Hose down and disinfect areas after rubbish removal and ensure bulk bins are ready for collection.
• Record work and any repairs using the company’s systems and communicate with relevant teams.

Required profile

• Previous experience in estate or property caretaking.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Reliable communication skills for reporting issues to housing officers.
