Estate Services Operative - Cleaner

About the role

Raven Housing Trust is looking for an Estate Services Operative (Cleaner) to maintain safe, healthy communal areas across its housing portfolio. Working primarily in the Croydon patch with occasional coverage in Brighton, you will help create a pleasant living environment for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of communal and public spaces – sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitising surfaces, and cleaning toilets and wash areas.
• Maintain external cleanliness, including litter picking, waste management, bin area upkeep and addressing fly‑tipping.
• Follow health & safety, fire risk and COSHH procedures at all times.
• Inspect shared areas, report and take initial action on maintenance issues, hazards or abandoned items.
• Use cleaning equipment efficiently, report faults and support service‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Ability to work according to Risk Assessments, Health & Safety, COSHH and Manual Handling guidelines.
• Basic understanding of cleaning duties such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming and dusting.
• Capable of following a planned schedule and managing workload effectively.
• Team‑oriented with good collaboration skills.
• Comfortable using IT systems or handheld devices to log and respond to jobs.
• Holds a full UK manual driving licence.
