Estimator – Construction & Civil Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a growing commercial team in Bolton. You will work across a variety of construction, civil engineering and manufacturing projects, preparing competitive cost estimates and supporting profitable project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Review enquiries, drawings and specifications to define project scope.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations.
• Interpret technical drawings, schedules and specifications.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, pricing and lead times.
• Identify cost‑saving and commercial opportunities.
• Carry out Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) and monitor project profitability.
• Support contract reviews, procurement and supplier negotiations.
• Collaborate with Sales, Design, Operations and Logistics teams.
• Maintain accurate estimating records in CRM and business systems.

Required profile

• Organised, commercially aware professional with strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Experience in an estimating, commercial or project‑based environment.
• Confidence interpreting technical drawings, specifications and project information.
• Preferably background in construction, civil engineering or manufacturing.

What we offer

• Salary £40,000–£50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
• Monday–Thursday 8:30 am–5:30 pm, Friday 8:30 am–4:30 pm.
