Estimator / Trainee Estimator – Caterham

About the role

Our client is seeking an Estimator or Trainee Estimator to join a growing construction team in Caterham. Whether you are starting out in estimating or already have experience, you will work on a variety of projects across London and the South East, developing your skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender enquiries, drawings and specifications.
• Prepare accurate estimates, quotations and cost breakdowns.
• Produce Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules and tender documentation.
• Attend site visits and surveys to assess project requirements.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of competitive tenders.
• Support post‑tender reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Numerate with strong analytical abilities.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Interest in construction, demolition or the built environment.
• Confident problem‑solver who enjoys working with figures.
• Eager to learn and develop a career in estimating.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
