Ethics & Compliance Manager

About the role

The Ethics & Compliance Manager will join the Sustainability team of a leading food manufacturer, ensuring suppliers meet company, customer and regulatory standards across sustainability, ethical trade, food safety and responsible sourcing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supplier assurance, compliance and responsible sourcing activities across the supply base.
• Manage supplier approval, documentation, risk assessments, audits and ongoing compliance.
• Ensure suppliers meet customer and regulatory requirements, including SEDEX, Modern Slavery and environmental compliance.
• Lead the VACCP process and contribute to TACCP activities.
• Support sustainability and ESG initiatives, reporting and customer submissions.
• Maintain accurate supplier records, specifications, audit reports and compliance documentation.
• Prepare reports, dashboards and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, auditors, customers and internal stakeholders.
• Lead, support and develop the team, ensuring clear priorities and high delivery standards.

Required profile

• Experience in the food industry, preferably in supplier assurance, technical compliance, responsible sourcing or sustainability.
• Knowledge of BRCGS standards, UK retailer requirements, ethical trade frameworks and ESG principles.
• Strong organisational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a proactive leadership approach.
• Full UK driving licence and valid passport for occasional travel.
