Event Build & Overlay Manager

About the role

This contract position leads the design, delivery and hand‑over of temporary hospitality infrastructure for a major UK sporting event. You will manage the full lifecycle of hospitality villages, temporary structures and venue overlays, ensuring they are built safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of temporary infrastructure for hospitality operations.
• Manage projects from procurement and permitting through construction, hand‑over and demobilisation.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, venue owners and contractors.
• Oversee utilities requirements such as power, water and drainage.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and maintain project documentation.
• Support tender processes, supplier engagement and procurement activities.
• Secure permitting and regulatory approvals for temporary builds.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor progress and enforce quality and safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading installation of temporary builds, overlays or infrastructure in an event setting.
• Background in large‑scale sporting or mass‑participation events.
• Strong stakeholder management and project coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple suppliers.
