Event Operations Director

About the role

Our client, a global leader in the media sector, is seeking a strategic Event Operations Director to lead and optimise the operational side of its thriving events division. Based in London, you will be responsible for delivering high‑impact, world‑class experiences across a portfolio of global events.

Key responsibilities

• Translate corporate strategy into measurable operational plans, overseeing annual budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Own P&L and drive profitability for all events and related business units.
• Lead the planning, execution and delivery of global events, ensuring excellence in production, logistics, registration, content and attendee experience.
• Optimise cross‑departmental processes for efficiency, scalability and consistency.
• Ensure compliance with local laws, health and safety regulations and internal policies.
• Champion innovation by collaborating with product and content teams to evolve event formats based on audience insights and market trends.
• Leverage feedback and analytics from attendees, exhibitors and sponsors to guide continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in event operations, with at least 2‑3 years leading an operations function.
• Proven ability to work with C‑suite stakeholders in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
• Strong analytical, data‑driven decision‑making and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with international event compliance, venue operations and vendor management.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
