Events Manager – Education & Courses (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

My client, a leading UK professional membership organisation, is seeking an experienced Education & Courses Events Manager on a 14‑month fixed‑term contract covering maternity leave. The role involves taking ownership of a varied programme of educational courses and events, working with senior stakeholders and subject‑matter experts to deliver engaging, well‑promoted and commercially successful programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of educational courses and events from planning through to completion.
• Develop and manage event budgets, monitor expenditure and achieve financial and attendance targets.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders, committees, course directors and experts to enhance the events programme.
• Work closely with Marketing to create campaigns that boost registrations, engagement and revenue.
• Oversee venues, catering, AV, production companies, facilitators and other suppliers, including contract negotiations.
• Handle event administration, communications and logistics with meticulous attention to detail.
• Support the organisation’s Annual Conference, taking responsibility for specific programme areas.
• Provide committee support and collaborate with the wider Education and Events team.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of end‑to‑end events management experience, preferably in healthcare, education, professional membership or charity/third sector.
• Strong experience managing event budgets and meeting financial targets.
• Proven ability to promote and market events, including writing engaging copy.
• Experience managing external suppliers, venues and event contracts.
• Organised, commercially aware and proactive professional who enjoys a varied workload and stakeholder interaction.
