Events Manager – Temporary Full‑Time (London)

About the role

We are looking for an Events Manager to join a busy higher‑education team in central London on a three‑month contract. The role is full‑time (35 hours per week) with an immediate start, offering £20.32 per hour plus holiday pay. You will support the planning and delivery of a varied programme of talks, seminars and hybrid events for academic, professional and public audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver a diverse calendar of in‑person, online and hybrid events.
• Coordinate venues, catering, travel arrangements, guest lists and event materials.
• Manage invitations, registrations, attendee queries and provide speaker support.
• Liaise with suppliers, internal departments and external contacts to ensure smooth execution.
• Track event plans, budgets, feedback and key deadlines.
• Support event promotion through website updates and email communications.
• Occasionally work evenings, with time‑off‑in‑lieu offered.

Required profile

• Proactive and adaptable, comfortable handling several tasks simultaneously.
• Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Clear, professional communication and confidence managing deadlines, suppliers and stakeholder queries.
• Enjoys working with people, solving problems and creating positive experiences for attendees and speakers.
• Previous experience in education, public sector, charity, membership or events‑led environments is helpful but not mandatory.
