Ex-Offender Mentor – Female Cohort

About the role

Join a newly launched Custody Hub dedicated to supporting women in prison. As an Ex‑Offender Mentor you will work directly with female inmates, guiding them from assessment through pre‑release planning and community reintegration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of women in custody, creating personalised support plans.
• Conduct assessments, reviews and pre‑release planning to facilitate successful resettlement.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and group‑based interventions that build confidence and motivation.
• Build trusting relationships and encourage participants to stay engaged.
• Link participants to essential services such as housing, health, substance‑misuse support, employment, education and training.
• Collaborate with peer mentors, volunteers and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Maintain accurate case records and meet contractual documentation requirements.
• Monitor risk and safeguarding concerns, escalating where necessary.
• Contribute to team performance, service objectives and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals and building strong relationships.
• Experience in probation, rehabilitation, social care, employability, housing, community support or the criminal‑justice sector.
• Resilient, motivated and able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to reducing re‑offending and promoting positive futures.
