Exams Manager – Part‑time (Ashford)

About the role

The school is seeking a part‑time Exams Manager to oversee the full examinations cycle for GCSE, AS, A‑Level, BTEC and other qualifications. Working three days a week during term time and additional weeks over the holidays, the role ensures compliance with JCQ regulations and smooth delivery for students, staff and parents.

Key responsibilities

• Manage entry submissions for all external qualifications and maintain accurate records.
• Produce timetables, candidate information packs and examination guidance.
• Coordinate secure handling, storage and distribution of exam papers and scripts.
• Arrange room allocations, seating plans and invigilation staffing, including recruitment and training.
• Resolve examination clashes and provide accommodations for affected candidates.
• Oversee results processing, attend results days and handle post‑results enquiries.
• Generate examination statistics and reports for senior leadership and external bodies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in examinations administration within an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of JCQ regulations and awarding‑body procedures.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required skills

• Familiarity with examination entry software and data management systems.
