Ex‑Offender Mentor – Female Cohort

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Ex‑Offender Mentor for a female cohort at HMP Eastwood Park. This permanent, full‑time position will involve supporting women in custody, helping them prepare for successful reintegration into the community.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of participants, delivering tailored support plans that meet individual needs.
• Conduct assessments, reviews and pre‑release planning to support successful resettlement.
• Deliver engaging one‑to‑one and group‑based interventions.
• Build positive, professional relationships that promote trust, motivation and personal development.
• Support participants to access services including housing, health and wellbeing, substance misuse, employment, education and training.
• Work collaboratively with peer mentors, volunteers and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure documentation complies with organisational and contractual requirements.
• Monitor and manage risk, safeguarding adults and children, and escalate concerns where appropriate.
• Contribute to team performance, service objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Share knowledge and best practice with colleagues and the wider team.

Required profile

• Passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals and building strong relationships.
• Experience in probation, rehabilitation, social care, employability, housing, community support or the criminal‑justice sector.
• Resilient, motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to reducing re‑offending and promoting positive futures.

Required skills

What we offer

• Permanent contract with a salary of £25,877 – £29,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
• 37‑hour work week based onsite at HMP Eastwood Park.
