Experienced Bookkeeper – Full‑Time

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a well‑established chartered accountancy practice serving clients across the UK and internationally. The role is full‑time and based in Huntingdon, offering a supportive environment within a firm that has been operating for nearly six decades.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales and purchase invoices, receipts, payments and journal entries.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
• Carry out bank, credit‑card and control‑account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records using cloud‑based accounting software.
• Liaise directly with clients on bookkeeping queries and financial information requests.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts and support year‑end account finalisation.
• Process payroll and pension submissions (desirable).

Required profile

• Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accountancy firm.
• AAT qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience handling bookkeeping for multiple entities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with cloud‑based accounting software.
