Experienced Canning Line Packaging Operative

About the role

We are looking for an Experienced Canning Line Packaging Operative to join a food‑production client in Bedford. You will work alongside conveyor belts, monitoring bottles and cans as they move through the line, ensuring correct fill levels and spotting any defects.

Key responsibilities

• Observe the production line and verify that containers are filled to required specifications.
• Identify and remove defective bottles or cans to maintain product quality.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on the canning line equipment.
• Operate machinery safely and follow all site health and safety procedures.
• Lift loads up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods during shifts.

Required profile

• Previous experience on a canning line or in a fast‑paced food‑production environment.
• Valid (or expired) counterbalance licence; clamp licence is an advantage.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including early, late and night patterns.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.

What we offer

• Annual salary of £31,140 plus a £6,684.39 shift allowance.
• Full‑time, permanent position with regular Monday‑Friday hours.
