Experienced CNC Setter / Operator (Temp-to-Perm)

About the role

Our large manufacturing client in Stockport is seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Operator for a temporary‑to‑permanent position. The role is hands‑on and involves setting up and operating CNC milling or turning machines while ensuring high‑quality output.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate CNC milling and turning equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce accurate parts.
• Use measuring tools such as micrometers and verniers to verify dimensions.
• Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems where required.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and report any issues promptly.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CNC Setter or Operator in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work with both milling and turning CNC machines.
• Familiarity with pneumatics and hydraulics is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail when reading drawings and measuring components.
