Experienced Floor Layer

About the role

We are recruiting an experienced Floor Layer for a local council in Bournemouth, supporting the Bathroom Adaptations Team. You will install specialist flooring systems in level‑access shower rooms and adapted bathrooms, ensuring high‑quality workmanship and compliance with specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and install safety flooring, cap and cove systems, vinyl flooring and hot‑weld finishes.
• Fit and finish cap and cove flooring systems accurately.
• Perform hot‑air welding and floor‑joint welding techniques.
• Install flooring in level‑access shower rooms and wet‑room environments, managing gradients and waterproofing requirements.
• Use an iPad for job scheduling, inspection forms, certification, photographic records and communication.
• Maintain records and ensure all work meets relevant health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence (company van provided).
• Hard‑working, enthusiastic, able to work independently and manage workload.
• No unspent criminal convictions; subject to a basic DBS check.
• Experience in occupied domestic properties is desirable; disability‑adaptations experience is advantageous.

• £40,000 per annum (PAYE) salary.
